Abstract
I made this film while enrolled in the Boston Institute of Contemporary Art's Fast Forward teen filmmaking program. I was interested in creating a documentary film that raised awareness of the environmental and social problems of bottled water. The film looks at why people are drinking so much bottled water and discusses the problems associated with bottled water. It includes interviews with a staff person from the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority who speaks about the clean and simply delivered public water supplied through the public water system in Eastern Massachusetts, a director of Clean Water Action who discusses attempts to privatize water in Massachusetts and elsewhere, and the campaign director of Corporate Accountability International's Think Outside the Bottle Campaign. The film also informs the viewer about the impact of people's lack of access to clean water, in terms of illness and mortality, and highlights the urgent need to safeguard the human right of access to clean water.
