Sanergy addresses the problem of sanitation, shortage of electricity and lack of access to fertilizers in developing nations

Abstract

A Global Crisis 2Bn people do not have access to sanitation. The resulting disease &water pollution cause 1.7Mn deaths & loss of $84Bn in worker productivity. Governments and NGOs have struggled to provide viable, sustainable solutions. A Bold New Solution Sanergy builds & franchises low-cost sanitation centers that provide toilet, shower, and washing facilities for the residents of Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi. We collect the waste the from our network of centers at our central processing facilities where we convert it to electricity, which we sell to the grid, and organic fertilizer, which we sell to commercial farms.
