Abstract
All modern problems have a human element at their origin. I believe that acts from destruction of the Amazon to nuclear terrorism are ultimately committed by people who fundamentally lack opportunity or alternatives. People clear cut the rainforest because it is economically beneficial for them to do so. People join extremist groups because they have little economic alternative, are angry and more easily manipulated into doing so. Strivers foundation seeks to incubate innovative small and medium size enterprises through a combination of practical business education and microfinance in order to provide legitimate economic alternatives.
