Abstract
In Jakarta, Indonesia, Mindy Weimer established both a US-based and an Indonesian non-profit organization to address local water and sanitation issues in practical and sustainable ways. The program concentrates on delivering point-of-use water treatments, household-scale waste-handling alternatives, rainwater collection, and health and hygiene promotion for squatter communities in Jakarta. With Mindy's guidance, the program has developed and maintained funding to cover an annual budget of US$250K. Mindy has achieved her goals of building a team to advance community service projects and developing the organization's capacity to run itself.
